Hi,
Welcome to my Counselling and Personal development webpages.
With Intuitive counselling and personal development I provide an opportunity to talk through any past or present issue which you need help with. Intuitive counselling is simply a combination of intuitive abilities and counselling skills.
My intention is to offer a safe and supportive environment where you feel accepted and understood. I will help you find greater self acceptance, clarity, peace of mind, inner strength, and the knowledge to see that you are a unique, powerful and capable of creating the life you want.
Below you will find a list of the life issues I work with, along with answers to questions you might want to ask me. Please have a look at what others have said about my work on the testimonials page, and if you still need anything clarifying further, please feel free to contact me. To book an appointment, please go to the contact page. This site will be expanding over time so do return at a future date to check out what’s new.

3. What therapeutic approaches do you use?
Therapy can simply be talking things over or consist of different techniques depending on you and your needs. The following are examples of some of the therapies I use:
Talking therapy: Is most commonly used and helpful in releasing tension and finding clarity. I draw on the wisdom that you as an individual are also connected to the whole (universe).
Experiential therapy: When talking isn’t enough. Sometimes we need to get out of our heads and into our bodies, for example to identify the different parts of ourselves and transform habitual patterns. This can be done in a number of ways and can be a very healing and revealing experience for you. For more detailed information, please see below.
Visualisations: To transform and create positive change. For more detailed information, please see below.
Inner child work: Or any work that increases self awareness, self respect and self support skills.
The following are usually given for you to do in your
own time:
Writing: For example, letters not to send. Helps release
anger, resentment, hurt etc).
Affirmations: Helps to inspire and as a focus for transformation.
4. How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions is usually open ended, depending on the issues presented and your personal choice for support. Sometimes a single session can be sufficiently insightful and helpful to clarify a situation for you. Obviously if you are seeking support with an addiction or deep childhood issues for instance, then initial commitment is a very good idea. Having said this, my experience is that with some individuals and some childhood abuse issues, there are techniques that can completely transform the energy and so free you more quickly than you would have thought possible. You don’t have to live in pain.
There is a great deal of self help available today and some people do occasionally just need a little support or pointing in the right direction which I am happy to do. Having said this, it is richly satisfying for me to work with an individual as they grow and change.
5. How long before I will feel better or see a change?
I am committed to doing the best that I can do within a professional setting. Everyone is unique and individual in their personal growth and awareness so it is not possible to predict or guarantee any particular outcome. Sometimes there is a big shift after one session and sometimes it is a slow steady progress. Having said this I am continually inspired by the amazing transformations that take place in my clients, who inspire me to keep doing what I am doing. Over the years, one way or another, I continue to learn as much from my clients as they do from me.
6. How long is each individual session?
Appointments are timed and last for 50 minutes. Another ten minutes is spent making a note of your progress and how you are feeling, so please allow an hour altogether. The first appointment usually takes 15-30 minutes longer than this.
7. I am apprehensive of making my first appointment, and whether you can help me.
Seeing a therapist can be a life changing process and can take courage to make that initial step so I recognise how important it is that you make the right choice for you. My experience in general is that once a person takes that first step, they are very grateful for doing so. We will talk on the telephone and there is a questionnaire to fill in before you commit to your first appointment, so there is time for you to be sure. Also, within the first 20 minutes of the initial consultation, either of us can decide for what ever reason not to continue and the session will close.
8. What is intuitive counselling?
Intuitive counselling uses a combination of counselling skills and intuition. Using intuition it is possible to gain insight into a person’s issues or situation that is otherwise not always obvious to the conscious mind. Over the years I have become more confident using my intuition with individuals, trusting what I sense and then drawing on various means of therapy and techniques accordingly. This may in fact simply be talking things through and discovering some self help tools.
9. What is visualisation and will you use hypnosis?
Put very simply, guided imagery or visualisation is a technique in which a client is guided to imagine situations. Many clinical observations suggest that where an individual visualises an imagined scene as though it were actually happening, it can have a profound effect on behaviour. This is because the subconscious mind experiences it as real. Although hypnosis is not needed for this technique, it is still the case that many individuals can have a deeply profound and healing experience. This technique is surprisingly effective with many issues.
I use Guided Imagery in the following ways:
1. Imagining going into the past for healing and transformation
2. Imagining experiencing a present situation whilst feeling empowered.
3. Imagining going into the future to create a desired situation i.e.
attracting the future you want.
It is not always necessary to analyse the darkness. By focusing on the light you can create your dreams. RBT |
10. If I want to book in for a hypnotherapy session at a later stage, can I do that?
Yes, this is fine.
11. What is experiential therapy, what does it involve and what are the benefits?
The principal idea is that although talking therapy is
invaluable, sometimes talking isn’t enough to resolve some issues, the
cause of which can be unconscious. The aim with experiential therapy is
to free a client from unexplained or unresolved emotional pain or patterns.
By briefly re-experiencing particular feelings or events from the past
with a new perspective in an imagined situation where you are safe and
empowered, the energy of it can be transformed. This allows a more enlightened
perspective to evolve along with greater strength and peace of mind.
Examples of experiential therapy are voice dialogue, gestalt therapy regression
therapy techniques and role playing. Over the years I have intuitively
developed a way of working that touches on these techniques and lead to
a greater sense of aliveness, clarity and authenticity
